As the dark creeps in my room,
I prepare myself for my tomb.
I can feel it’s presence,
The presence of death’s essence.
I can see its secretive darkness slithering inside,
Without any worry and nothing to hide.
As it moves about,
I don’t want to shout.
For if I dare to,
You know what will happen, it’s true.
I will be swallowed whole,
Sucked into a dark hole.
Without any escape or thought,
I am trying to remember what I have been taught.
My eyes are wide open against the darkness that surrounds me,
I could let this be, happily with no worry that I can see.
But then I remember your face,
In this secret dark place…
I can’t believe you still exist in my head,
Here, as I lay down in bed…
With so much darkness your face appears,
My eyes start to let out tears.
For I am not afraid of the darkness,
I am afraid of you leaving me here.
